Robert Smith Senior Vice President of Industrial Programs Dassault Falcon JetSince 1997, he has served Dassault as Deputy General Manager / SR.VP of Operations. His primary responsibility is managing the day-to-day operation of the Little Rock production facility. Mr. Smith is also currently assigned to a special project working with senior management in Paris, France to increase Falcon completion capacity within the United States. Prior to joining Dassault Falcon Jet, Robert was with American Eurocopter Corporation as Director of Operations and Director of Corporate Development, and with MBB Helicopter Corporation as Director of Operations. At Dassault, Robert led a team of 800 direct and indirect employees, reducing costs and cycle time, while keeping operating expenses below budget. His selected achievements are: • Reduced costs and cycle time by implementing new processes and eliminating redundant tasks • Established process controls and variance analysis • Operating costs were under budget 5 straight years • Streamlined organizational structure to reduce indirect headcount • Adapted processes, manpower and facility to meet company objective of increasing output by 50%. • Achieved on-time delivery for seven years
Hank Cox Vice President, Media Relations National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)Hank Cox has worked the Washington scene as a journalist, free lance writer, editor and communications expert for 35 years. He served 18 years with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (1980-1997) as a manager of regulatory issues, legislative manager, media expert and chief speech writer. Prior to his association with NAM, Hank served as Public Affairs Officer for the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Hank is responsible for translating the NAM’s complex issues into clear language and conveying the information to the news media, members and the public. Noted for his dry wit and irreverent observations of the Washington scene, Hank’s free lance articles and stories, mostly in a humorous vein, have appeared in The Washingtonian, Regardie’s, The Annapolitan, Chesapeake Bay Magazine, and other publications. His short story, “The Secret Sin of Nathan Embry,” won the $5,000 first prize in the 1989 Regardie’s fiction contest. He was ghost author, duly credited in the acknowledgements, of “Meltdown On Main Street: Why Small Business Is Leading the Revolution Against Big Government,” by Dr. Richard Lesher, former President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, published by Dutton in 1996. Hank has recently authored a book, “Abraham Lincoln and the Sioux Uprising of 1862,” published in 2005 by Cumberland House Publishers in Nashville, TN.
